Be grateful even if from an early age you’ve been told that you don’t deserve good things, it’s where you learn to be a friend to yourself. Be honest even if many beautiful things are built on lies, it’s where you learn to differentiate the things that leave you empty and the things that fill you up. Be vulnerable even if society dislikes you from being so, it’s where you learn to unapologetically love the story you’re in.”— Juansen Dizon, Self-Education

The meaning of life can be staring at the clouds instead of your bedroom ceiling, cuddling with the person you love and knowing for yourself that sometimes that’s the best feeling. The meaning of life can be watching your favorite TV series, reading profound quotes on the internet, writing a poem about sadness and taking good care of your pet. The meaning of life can be eating your favorite kind of pizza, listening to your favorite song on the radio and listening to your heart still beating and knowing that as long as it’s still beating there is always space for breathing. The meaning of life is creating hope from the little things so when you’re feeling discouraged, helpless and alone, you’ll always have a way to cope for you to find your path towards better things.”— Juansen Dizon, The Meaning of Life

Like for the days you practiced gratefulness, you notice that you’re slowly starting to appreciate where you are in the here and now—you become more aware of the beautiful things that are already within you that will help you to grow. Like for the nights you practiced self-care, you notice that you wake up more early and feel less tired—you become more awake to the things that are genuinely important to you and the ones that are simply a waste of your precious time. Progress happens when you least expect it to happen and when you become mindful that it is happening, moment by moment, day after day, from sunrise to sunset, then you will be surprised by the miracle of how far you’ve actually come and how you should always keep moving forward.”— Juansen Dizon, Small Packages

34 notes / 4 years ago / reblogThere are a million ways we should’ve died before today. And a million ways we can die before tomorrow. But we fight… for every second we get to spend with each other. Whether it’s two minutes, or two days… we don’t give that up. I don’t want to give that up. My vote? Let’s just wait it out. You know we can… be all poetic and just lose our minds together.
